Connect verxion to ChatGPT as a custom MCP app and understand the current plan limits.

ChatGPT can use verxion as a manually added custom MCP app. Verxion is not yet listed in the public ChatGPT app directory; directory submission is separate from the connection below.

Before you start

Custom MCP availability is controlled by ChatGPT. At the time this guide was verified, full MCP support including write actions was in beta for Business and Enterprise/Edu workspaces. Pro accounts could add custom MCP apps in developer mode, but only read and fetch tools were supported. Workspace administrators can also restrict whether members may create or use custom apps.

Use a plan and workspace policy that permit the actions you need. ChatGPT agent mode does not use custom apps, and deep research only uses read/fetch tools.

Connect

  1. Open MCP Setup, sign in, and copy the ChatGPT server URL. The production value is https://mcp.verxion.ai/mcp.
  2. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and enable Developer mode. In managed workspaces, an admin may instead create the app under Workspace settings → Apps.
  3. Choose Create app, enter the verxion MCP URL, and let ChatGPT scan the available tools.
  4. Complete the verxion OAuth flow and approve the requested scopes.
  5. Start a new chat and select verxion from the app/tool picker.

If your ChatGPT UI does not offer Developer mode or Create app, the feature is not available for that account or has been disabled by the workspace admin.

Interactive widgets

On supported ChatGPT surfaces, verxion responses can include session summaries, progress charts, contribution grids, and nutrition breakdowns. Code Mode exposes the broad capability catalog through execute_code; the direct surface also includes selected tools and widgets. The exact surface is discovered when the app connects, so this guide does not pin a tool count.

Voice and verification

Voice input and MCP tool support depend on the ChatGPT mode. If tools are not available during a voice conversation, dictate into the text composer and send the message there. Review any returned write, especially weights, repetitions, dates, and units.

To verify the connection, ask: Read my verxion profile and tell me which account is connected. A write-capable account can then create a small test entry and delete or correct it. If reads work but writes do not, first check the ChatGPT plan limitation above and the OAuth scopes shown in https://app.verxion.ai/settings/connect.
