Sessions
Start, pause, resume, end, and adapt training sessions — including swapping exercises mid-workout.
A session is one workout day actually performed on a specific date. Sessions are the unit verxion uses to attach set logs, time, and notes.
Starting a session
Sessions start from a workout day in your active routine. Ask:
"Start today's workout"
"Start my Push A day"
verxion picks the right workout day from your routine schedule and your training history (e.g., what you did most recently determines what’s next in PPL rotations).
Logging sets
Once a session is active, log sets in plain language. See Routines & Programs for advanced set types.
"Bench 100 x 8 RPE 8"
"That was a drop set: 80x10, then 60x8, then 40x12"
"Skip the next exercise, my elbow's not happy"
verxion picks the right tool, attaches the set to the current exercise, and tracks volume + PRs automatically.
Pausing and resuming
If you have to step away — a phone call, a long rest, a gym interruption — pause:
"Pause the session"
Time stops accumulating. Resume with:
"Resume the session"
Pausing is also useful between two-a-days, when a session technically spans hours but isn’t continuous.
Swapping exercises mid-session
If the machine is occupied or your shoulder protests, swap:
"Swap incline bench for incline dumbbell press"
The swap is recorded — your set logs land on the substitute exercise, and your routine is unchanged for next time. If you want the swap to be permanent, ask verxion to update the routine after the session ends.
Adding exercises mid-session
Want to add a finisher that wasn’t in your routine?
"Add face pulls 3x15"
The exercise is appended to the current session only. Routines stay as planned.
Adapting to travel
When you’re away from your usual gym, ask verxion to adapt:
"I'm at a hotel gym — adapt my session to dumbbells only"
verxion substitutes equipment, preserves the training stimulus, and logs the adaptation note.
Ending a session
"End the session"
"I'm done"
verxion generates a summary: total volume, sets, top set per exercise, duration, adherence vs plan, and any PRs hit. The summary is saved and queryable later.
Canceling a session
If you started a session by accident or have to abort, cancel:
"Cancel the session"
A canceled session is removed from your training timeline — set logs in it are discarded.
