Time off

Take a real break without turning rest into missed goals or lost progress.

Time off gives you room to step away without turning recovery, travel, or illness into failed goals. It pauses how verxion evaluates your days across training and nutrition; it does not pause or dismantle your plans.

What time off changes

During a time-off period, verxion freezes the expectations attached to your days:

  • Planned workouts, meals, steps, and other goals do not become missed or overdue.
  • Streaks, adherence, scoring, programs, and mesocycles wait for your return.
  • Today shows no obligations for protected dates instead of treating them as incomplete days.
  • When you return, skipped work does not reappear as debt.

Messages sent personally by your coach are not silenced automatically.

What stays intact

Your routine, diet, active program, mesocycle, and history all remain in place. Time off pauses evaluation, not your ability to log.

You can still record a workout, cardio, food, or any other activity you choose to do. That activity does not count toward adherence or extend a streak while the date is protected, but its personal records, volume, and history remain yours.

Choose the dates

Choose the first day you want protected and the day you expect to return. The first day is included; the return day is not part of the break and your goals start counting again that day.

For example, time off from August 7 with a return on August 17 protects August 7 through 16. August 17 is an ordinary evaluated day again.

You can also leave the return date open. If you forgot to start time off when the break began, your agent can start it up to two days in the past. The web app date picker does not offer that option.

Tell your agent

Give the agent the dates and, if useful, the reason in your own words:

"I'm away from August 7 through 16. Put me on time off for travel and bring my goals back on the 17th."
"Start time off today and leave the return date open."
"I got sick yesterday. Put me on time off starting yesterday."

A reason is optional. verxion records travel, injury, illness, deload, or another reason only when you state it; it never guesses why you are taking a break.

Time off vs a rest day

These actions solve different situations:

If you need to…Use…What happens
Protect several dates across all goalsTime offEvaluation, expectations, and streaks wait; plans remain intact
Mark one planned date without trainingA planned rest dayThat single day reflects the intent of your routine
Stop only a routine and its clockPause a routineOther areas continue as usual
Train with deliberately reduced loadA deloadThe lighter work remains planned and evaluated
Close a workout you started but will not finishCancel the sessionOnly that session is closed

For a single planned date, see Cardio & daily steps.

Returning early or changing plans

You can change the return date, remove it to make the period open-ended, or finish an active break now. Finishing now makes today count again, so check today’s goals before confirming.

A future period can be cancelled before it starts. Finished and cancelled periods remain in your history and cannot be edited.

Surface differences

The core protection is the same everywhere, but the controls currently differ:
